This is a consoles program that simplifies and performs algebraic operations with rational numbers (fractions).
It is the final part of my source code explanations for this type of numbers, since it uses the structure of rational numbers to bring this application to life.
If you download the source code, you will see that you can additionally convert a number with decimals to fraction, thanks to the last update, where you add the converter that also explains in another article.
Like all console programs, it works with commands. These are:
Convert: convert a number with decimals to its equivalent in fraction.
Simplify: Simplify the fraction that you enter to its minimum expression.
Help: Shows on-screen help.
To perform algebraic operations, you should only write them directly on the screen in the following way:Example: 1/2 + 1/4
You write the two numbers in parentheses: (1/2) + (1/4)
You can enter the numbers you want and combine algebraic operations such as:
(1/5) + (1/3) - (1/8)
The system will calculate everything from left to right.

Here a demonstration video of the application:
Finally it is available in executable and source code VB.NET
