Simul O2 is a program that simulates how the engine oxygen sensor operates. In this case, what it does is generate voltage of (0-1) V based on the air / gasoline mixture that is adjusted in the mixing bar.

This simulator does not use mathematical equations, but rather operates according to the programmed parameters obtained from an O2 sensor in good condition. So it should only be used to have a basic notion of how this sensor works in the vehicle's engine. It does not include operation of the sensor at low temperature, nor problems due to contamination of the sensor. Perhaps further studies are done and these functions can be added.

User interface

This is based on the following illustration:

As you can see, it is quite simple it consists of:

Tubo de escape: Illustrated as a tube and two squares at the beginning and end that indicate the exhaust manifold and catalyst respectively.

Osciloscopio: Displays the measurement value of the analog voltage of the O2 sensor.

Control del Mezcla. Enrich or impoverish the air / fuel mixture by using the ruler. It has two more options that are:

Activar/Desactivar auto regulación: What this option does is emulate the behavior of the computer by regulating the mix, the result is an oscillating signal in the oscilloscope.

Activar/Desactivar exactitud: What it does is emulate the sensor error when taking the measurement, it increases in the band ranges and improves at the central level.

How to perform the simulation

It is very simple, once you download the program and run it do the following:

This is at 50%. You can move it to the left and right and you see the behavior of the O2 sensor, both in the voltage, in the oscilloscope and the amount of oxygen in the mixture.

Important: Remember that the control rule adjusts the amount of gasoline in the mixture, not the oxygen level.

If you activate the AUTO box, you can no longer control the mixing with the control rule, but this will be done by the program.
