How to delete temporary files in Windows 10 and get more disk space?

No matter what operating system you use, over time there are many files and data that begin to occupy precious space on your hard drive and that have no utility. From those who decide to delete but never deign to remove from the Recycle Bin, to all the information that your Web browser saves while browsing.

Open Windows 10 settings

To access the configuration options of W10 you must click on the Start button or press the Windows key. The menu will be displayed with the programs, tiles and options that you have configured to appear in the Start menu.

It can also be accessed in other ways, such as typing  "System " in the search box that appears next to start.

Access your PC storage

Once inside the options, you will see multiple possibilities of configuring your computer with Windows 10. If you have not yet accessed this menu, it may be worthwhile exploring it and taking a look.

It's the switchboard from which you control your system. This is where you have to go every time you want to make a change to the Internet options, the language or add a new account.

If you want to go to the point and delete the files from the Temporary Files folder, select "System" and then "storage" and  "This computer " To access the menu where you will be shown the distribution of the files within the system. There you will see what more storage space occupies and where.

In addition, you will see a bar showing the amount of storage available on your computer. You have to scroll down to locate the temporary files. If your hard drive is too overloaded, you may have to wait for a few minutes for this screen to charge.

Select Temporary files and delete

The following screen will show you two cleaning options for your PC: the temporary files, the Recycle Bin, the downloads and the previous version of Windows. Both locations can be emptied and cleaned, and in fact it is advisable to do so, especially since both file folders occupy storage space.

If you want to finish cleaning your temporary files folder, select the top button and confirm your choice. If there are too many, it will show you a load window with the progress of cleaning. Once finished, you can close it and enjoy your computer with Windows 10 clean temporary files.
